Interview with Suzanne Fisher Woods:

Book Blurb:
Katrina Stoltzfus thought she had life and love all figured out: she was going to
marry John and live happily ever after. Those plans started to crumble when her
father moved the family to Stoney Ridge, then completely collapsed when John
decided to marry someone else. Katrina is devastated.
How could she have feel so loved, yet been so deceived?
As she struggles to face a future without him, a widow asks for her help to start anew business and Katrina quickly agrees. She needs time to heal her broken heart, to untangle her messy life, to find a purpose.
What she doesnt need is attention from Andy Miller, a farm hand who arrives at the widows farm just when help is most needed–and who always seems to say the right thing, and be in the right place, at the right time.

Is Andy for real, or too good to be true? Deceived once before, Katrina is determined to

keep her feelings in check. When a cascade of events is set in motion by some surprising information, the little Amish church is turned upside down. Soon, everyone has a stake in the
outcome, and the community struggles to find the best response to an imposter.

If you are like me, you love the Amish stories Mrs. Fisher writes. The Imposter will have you fixated to the book, unable to put it down (even at 2am in the morning and having to go to work soon).

The questions and answers below will lead you into a world unlike our own, as we unravel the details of The Imposter, a wonderful Amish story.

1. Give me three facts about the book, readers must know.

The Stoltzfus family is relocating to Stoney Ridge from Ohio; some customs and traditions they bring with them will be a little different.

In The Imposter, David Stoltzfus is a minister. His character is modeled after an inspiring Amish bishop I’ve had the privilege of knowing.

The Imposter is not who you think he/she is. Or…maybe he/she is?

2. As an author, you’re known for doing your homework with the Amish people. How

are you able to gather stories and details to make your books seem more real?

I’ve written four non-fiction books about the Amish. They required quite a bit of research, and I believe they’ve given me a good and on-going foundation to write credible fiction. I try to represent the Amish as accurately as possible in my books, but I’m the first to admit that fiction is fiction. These are stories, meant to entertain and inspire and educate.

3. What is a Quieting and how often do the Amish do this?

Quietings are quite rare, but they do happen when an unrepentant church leader has his ordination revoked. It’s a devastating experience for a church—not because of the Quieting, but because of what leads up to it. I liken it to a root canal. The actual procedure isn’t so bad…but the pain that gets you there is awful.
